I am an American-Irish solo world explorer who travels with her rescue pup. This is a place for dog & travel lovers to come together to share tips & more. We want to inspire you to go on adventures with your best (furry) friends!

Adopt a Dog & Travel The World

My actual to-do list includes adopting a puppy and then traveling the world.

I’ve always known I wanted to travel and live in multiple countries. That’s why I moved from the US to Ireland as soon as I graduated from college. I’ve been in Ireland for over 2 years now and I’m ready for something new. The lease on my apartment is up in January so that seems like a perfect time to take the plunge.

Why do you want to travel with a dog? It seems hard enough to travel by yourself.

This is a hard question to answer because it feels so natural to me. I wanted to get a dog as soon as I rented a place that accepted pets, but that is very hard to find a reasonably priced dog-friendly place in Dublin.

It also has to do with having companionship. I have traveled by myself before but there was always someone on the other end. This will be the first time knowing absolutely no one where I am going. It is comforting knowing I will have my pup with me and that I will be putting his and her needs first. I will always be motivated to get up and do something because I have my adventure pup.

It sounds like a dream come true traveling the world with my pup. It’s combining two of my goals (adopt a puppy & travel) into one. I can’t wait to teach Nomad Pup to be a model canine citizen of the world.

I want to share my experiences from the planning stage (now), to adoption, to travel, and to the every day life. I’m excited to see how it works out so I hope you are too. It’s going to be a challenge but it’s going to be so rewarding and fun.
